Does this happen all the time, once FG has loaded and started, or does it only happen when you first load FG? Do you have AI aircraft enabled? At some airports, especially KSFO, it seems to take quite a bit of time for all the various models, scenery & AI aircraft, to load but here, once they have finished loading everything settles down. Do you get the same problems if you start off at a different (and less developed) airport? Try starting at a small regional airport where there aren't lots of models to be loaded - it'll probably have to be on a different scenery tile - e.g. starting at KHAF probably wouldn't help as it's so close to KSFO.
