Err ... I don't think the BU0836 (without the 'A') is configurable. At least that's what I remember from reading their forum. Maybe it depends on the firmware version. The whole configuration thing isn't *that* important. It only offers to invert axes or to switch them to a "zoom" mode (which doesn't seem to be very sohpisticated), and to pair buttons for rotary encoding switches. Most people don't need those functions. And it's easy to configure them on a friend's Windows, if necessary. The reason why I'm coding that anyway is that I'm (A) stubborn, and (B) F/OSS enthusiast. It's a matter of principle more than anything else. :-) > They're great little modules, the only gotcha I've found so > far is that linux doesn't consider it a joystick unless it presents at > least one analog input (if they're disconnected they're hidden - I > suppose if you just wanted buttons you could wire a couple of resistors > to one of the inputs to enable it). Yes, and it's specifically axis 0 that has to be activated for Linux to accept the device as joystick. I've just slapped an old (HDD master/slave) jumper on the first axis for my tests. No resistors needed. > Maybe we can have a list of flightgear compatible projects for people > to build. Yes, a wiki page might be useful. After someone threw me out of the wiki, I'm not going to participate here, though. m. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval Try the new software tools for yourself.
