Because of other trouble I upgraded to Debian "lenny" last week and installed the new version 195.36.15 of the NVidia driver. I'm not sure I can reproduce the bug any longer with this driver, since xdpyinfo now shows 1 32-bit visual. Otoh, if you don't feel responsible for the problem, how can you close it? At least I think the descriptions should stay visible on the server. Moreover, even if it's possible to find a working visual on **every** machine, it's still desirable to have a choice of plane-depth like 16. The documentation should clearly show, how this is done if possible too.
