Yes, I understood ;-)

I'll address the navigation later. That might be more work
to do, and maybe someone else has more / better ideas.

What I couldn't find out yet, is how to make the links look
better. I didn't find a doxygen way to reference the main
page - that's why this is a HTML link with the underline
(called top or index). The others are doxygen links to
(text) pages.

WRT navigation buttons: since this is FLTK, we could use
FLTK's own buttons, created with the "@" symbols, see
test/symbols. I think that

   test/symbols -s gtk+

looks pretty good, but I would also use

   test/symbols -s plastic

Your opinions? Color preferences? Someone who would like
to produce the button (.gif) images? If I would do that,
they surely wouldn't be as nice as they could be... ;-)

However, I'll try do make a prototype.
