Many years ago - and I do mean *many* - I made a whole bunch of posts about rectangular selections (at the time I had a project where I thought they would be useful...) and you, Bill, Mike, others all pitched in... Anyway, I had a go fixing it, and was entirely unsuccessful - it makes too many assumptions about the mono-pitched-ness of the fonts in use, and is just not amenable to fixing. Plus, I could never figure out the nedit code anyway. I can't see that we would miss it... > Maybe a redesign around the old API is the better approach? Or find an API somewhere else that we like and clone it... They tell me the scite widget is nice! (Though I've never actually used it for any projects myself.) > I'll rip the rectangle selection out first which will greatly > reduce the number of lines of code.
