There's an optional #define to use winsock 1 (winsock.h, wsock32.dll)
instead of winsock 2 (winsock2.h, ws2_32.dll) that's used somewhere
in the source files. Should we really still try to support winsock1?

I propose to remove winsock1 support, since this is long outdated.
