Yeah, same here.. I spent days with one of my larger customer's
lead programmer who had himself spent days and didn't find an
answer. I eventually dug up the answer after a few days of
investigation and back+forth with the customer, reading numerous
webpages and documents, since I was locked into the newer compiler
due to requirements of openexr on newer compiler features (something
about modern template requirements, can't remember the details now)
But yes, I decided not to upgrade any of my own projects to the
new compiler because deployment was scary/weird.
MS wastes so many man hours of the collective masses with junk
like this.. and all of it will be so useless just a few years later.
Makes me mad.
