Fltk does not render any fonts - it uses the underlying system to render
fonts. If you are on linux, you need to enable XFT in your fltk builds,
and that will then use whatever truetype fonts are installed on your
system, suitably anti-aliased by the Xft renderer.
But that still will not necessarily mean you can ask for a really huge
font and expect it to work - the renderer will have its own ideas about
how big a glyph it is happy to render!
