Oh, I trust you on that, no question - it is just that I have some
code, that has two selectable back-ends, one rendered with fltk-native
calls, one with cairo, and the cairo version is maybe 15~20 times
slower than the fltk one.
I mainly use the cairo back-end for producing PDF output, which it
does very well, but if I use it for the display output, well, slow.

If AGG is 3 times slower again...
