After Duncan Gibson's message of Feb 15th asking about combining four STRs, I decided to look into the state of CMake in FLTK. On my archlinux setup it produced good libraries but the fltk-config and config.h were broken. Most of the options available in the automake build were missing in the CMake build. It also used at least one obsolete built-in script. I then took it upon myself to re-work the CMake scripts in order to bring it up to date, remove these deficiencies and generally clean up. By up to date, I mean CMake 2.6 which is what most Linux distributions are currently packaging, not 2.8 which is the latest. Given my current rate of progress, this effort should be complete in about a week. Most of this time is learning the CMake system itself, which is unfortunately full of surprises. My aim has been to get it right and have it complete before submitting any more patches. As for fluid generating CMakeLists.txt files, it should be fairly easy, just look at the CMakeLists.txt file in the test subdirectory of the FLTK code. That macro is on my hit list for minor changes, but that seems to be a good way to do it, mostly boilerplate. It works and one can't argue with success. That's MHO anyway.
