Hello guys,

Actually, my fellows from college and I are planning on creating a company
for software development and happens that we don't have experience in the
business market, we kind of came across the question whether to program
desktop applications or web-based applications. We want to use an agile
methodology like XP since we are a small team and, particularly, I don't
think of programming in another way.
What I hear is that Web development is the future since internet largely
available and it's more easy to make web systems than desktop systems.
languages like Python and Ruby(Ruby on Rails) are really like a new trend in
Brazil (at least, the area where I live), and I really think it's amazing (I
have some knowledge in Python) though I program in C++ with FLTK, Qt.

My point is, I know most of you have been working for some time, and it
would be wonderful to hear from you what do you work with, what are the
markets for desktop programming, who are the main clients, how to make money
with desktop applications, whether to make programs for other companies or
develop our own products, cellphone applications, etc..

I apologise for the fact that my question is not directly FLTK related.

regards,
