Ah I see. Well, I guess you'd need to have subclassed widgets and rework the handle() methods to apply the custom interpretations to the mouse events then... Never really tried that (re-interpreting mouse actions on the fly) but sounds interesting, if possibly non-trivial... I did once (many years ago) write a crude X11 tool for handling "mouse gestures" on the desktop, I guess that might be similar. But I dropped that code when I noticed that many other better examples already existed (See this wheel here? I just re-invented that...) And of course, tablets and touchpads kind of made that code obsolete anyway...
