Yes, XFT is (more or less) intertwined with Fontconfig, so you need to have Fontconfig in place before you can build XFT. At the lowest level, a lot of XFT and FC functions are interchangeable (at least on Linux) so you can call either XftThing() or FcThing() in many cases and they are the same "thing" in practice... > > Or am i completely off track here ?
