I also would like to get rid of Nxlib+Nano-X and use a conventional XServer, 
but unfortunately am not in a position to do that right now.

By the way, i didn' have to build FLTK with XFT support, adding freetype suport 
on the Nano-X did the job. Am now able to support and use TTF fonts on the 
target.
