There's a sudden smattering of invalid messages in fltk.general,
when viewed via the web interface, with (No Subject) titles,
and dates of Dec 31 1969

e.g. http://www.fltk.org/newsgroups.php?s27119+gfltk.general+v27138+T0

which then produce:

We were unable to show the requested message for the following reason:
423 no such article in group (range 8943-36126)

Are these down to spam articles which are partially accepted/deleted?

Is there some way to filter them out before they get into the system?
Because if you aren't paying attention the article count is screwed
and then it's a question of trial and error to reset it to get back
to recent history.
