Hi,
Regarding Patricia's proposed snow events/exercises/menus...
1. Snow sandwich - place 3 slices of snow, etc...
This started off quite well until I had to dice the pine needles. How do you
do that? In the end I chopped them up - but is that dicing? Then the whole
thing ground to a halt when not only could I not find a madrone tree, but I
didn't even know what it was. I tried www.madronetree.com but, despite the
title of the website , was rather vague. So, not a very practical exercise,
Patricia.
2. Build 4 snowpersons to resemble your favorite politicians...
This started well, too. I don't actually have a favourite politician, saint
or religious icon - so I plumped for
rock-music icons. I chose the Beatles, as they are my favourites. I didn't
make a bad job, either, even if I do say so myself, although it was tricky
making Sir Paul left-handed. Now - how to get them to New York.
I booked five seats on Virgin Airlines but - disaster! They melted in the
taxi on the way to the airport.
So I gave up on that one. I guess it's okay if you live in America,
Patricia, but you have to remember that the internet is international. Try
to think of projects that everyone can partake in.
3. Set up a website titled www.blizzard.com ...
This was a non-starter as far as I was concerned as it was obvious that
Patricia had already done this. However I have set one up called
www.snowbeatles.co.uk but it's in
hotmail, so if you want to visit it you'll have to be quick before it melts.
4. Drive your automobile in downtown Los Angeles...
This is plainly silly because, and shoot me down in flames if I'm wrong,
they don't
have snow in L.A.
And even if they do, I bet they don't have enough snow to warrant putting
snow-chains on your tires.
5. Stand in the snow with a lover blissfully nude and catch
snowflakes on your tongues. Kiss, and exchange snowflakes.
Now this is more like it, Patricia. I haven't actually done it yet as my
lover, who, I hastily add, is
also my wife, hasn't yet managed to find a window of opportunity in her
diary. She's very busy. However I have had a practice run with Judy, our
dog.
Well, must go and salt the drive. Looks like it's going to snow.
Bye
