On Sol's remarkably frank and lucid take on art / antiart:

Yes, I think the term "antiart" is daft (actually "doofy" is what you'd say
around here) for the reasons you give. And it also seems counterproductive. I
mean, most of the world is "anti-art." The world mostly dislikes and distrusts
most artmaking and would like it to go away. The last thing I'd want to do is
go dumping on anyone who's trying to make something out of nothing, or something
out of their head (the same thing, I find, in my case all too often), quibbling
with their means of dissemination.

This year's proposed multiple is the sports team shirt for artists and critics:
the team is the Pariahs, the shirt will be set up and designed to resemble the
Atlanta Braves jersey (I like their lettering), and the home town is still under
consideration. Two requests: Is there enough demand for this multiple for me to
manufacture it? And what are your suggestions as to the team's home? There are
several ideas, from Providence to Pompeii.

Me, I'd like a Pariah shirt. I'd finally feel like I had a team I could cheer
for.
