That requires me to be an agent for social change, which I am willing to and do accept. However, a fully living being has many levels of existence. I must eat, I must have shelter, I prefer to have a loving spouse, I look after my kids. I cannot constantly be agitating for social change or I will suffer and quickly burn out. Thus, as part of my existence as a full human being, I have the ability and the need to satisfy other aspects of my brain capacity, for example, to express such things as aesthetics, love poems, concepts relating to non-social agendas, etc. To throw my hands up in the air, run around squawking, and ignoring the aspects that make our lives richer, is to give into fear and to quickly become incapable of affecting the very situation of which I am so afraid. Finally, as an artist, I might be responsible for documenting social change, however it is as a consciencious human being that I am responsible for contributing to social change. And on that note, if you have positive suggestions for affecting the current world situation, I am eager to participate. For my part, I am interested, as a consciencious human being, to use my skills as an artist, to create world visions that might demonstrate paths out of madness. On one level, I am trying to use computer based art to create intimate portrayals of people and their everyday life, trying to break through barriers of mistrust and fear. On another level, I am trying to promote Intellectual Property Freedom, to release some of the Monopoly on Knowledge that has lead to unfair advantages for large corporations, which cause inefficient allocation of world resources. On yet another level, I am interested in creating guild-like organizations for producers that takes economic power away from marketers. On yet another level, I am tryig to introduce Art as a Service - leading to a greater sense of responsibility for creative activity and restructuring the economic activity that surrounds the production of creative properties. -- Joseph Franklyn McElroy Cor[porat]e [Per]form[ance] Art[ist] Take the Survey everyone is talking about... http://www.electrichands.com/genius2000 Electric Hands, Inc www.electrichands.com 212-255-4527 Quoting [EMAIL PROTECTED]: > Get a life guys you are all so supper fiscal.
