no hay nada

"there isn't nothing"

Why doesn't English accept double negation? It is so much fun!

See, in Spanish you cannot see nobody ("no veo a nadie"), obviously, and you can spend half your time insisting that there is no nothing (no hay nada).

I especially like it when nothing happens ("no pasa nada"). People tell you that to calm you down - really helpful.
