Hi Mark,

I've looked but the geodb_text_char_spacing is not available as an exposable
attribute (in build 1378). I'd expect it somewhere between
geodb_text_break_char and geodb_text_clip. Is there any other way to expose
this attribute than through the Expose Attributes context menu?

Marc

Subject: RE: [fme] Changing CharacterSpacing in pGdb Annotation

Hello Marc,
Our GeoDatabase expert tells me that the name of the exposable attribute is
geodb_text_char_spacing and it should be available in the list of exposable
attributes.

The Readers and Writers manual usually gives this information, but this format
attribute doesn't seem to be there.
I'll file a request to get it added.

Hope this helps,
Regards,

Mark

Subject: [fme] Changing CharacterSpacing in pGdb Annotation

I'm trying to convert DGN Annotation to pGdb Annotation. Some Annotations have
special characters to designate deviant character spacings. For example: the
character means the characters should be double spaced. pGdb Annotation has a
field called CharacterSpacing that can be used to change character spacing.
However, it's not listed in the geodb_* format attributes. I tried to access
the CharacterSpacing field as a user attribute, but that doesn't work. Is there
any work-around to fill this field?

So far I've only come up with a solution where I create my own custom field,
fill it with neccessary values using the workbench I've created, then go into
ArcMap, and populate the CharacterSpacing field with the values of my custom
field. This seems sort of a clumsy way to do things.

Any suggestions?

regards,

Marc
