Not to my knowledge.  I think there are already a couple requests for the ability to "refresh" a data set.  If mine isn't already registered, this is me sticking up my hand.

What I have done in a couple cases with data sets that change their structure frequently is to have a single input feature with a Merge Filter of *.  Then I do an AttributeFilter to split these out into their own streams.

This causes some headaches with attribute handling though.  You may need to use an AttributeCreator to add-back attributes from all but the feature that the merge filter is applied to.  Basically you set attributename = &attributename for all of the attributes you're interested in seeing in the work flow.

Subject: [fme] Source and Destination dataset updates

Hi All-

Does anyone know if it is possible to refresh existing features in a workbench session if changes have been made (ie: additional attributes added, deleted, renamed, etc.), rather than delete the feature(s) and reload?  I often have changes to the source and destination features in our test and prod SDE databases and it can be a pain to sort these out in workbench.  I was hoping there was a way that the current features in workbench could just reload themselves with the latest version (upon request..as opposed to automatically doing this as I could imagine cases where you would not want this to occur).

Is this available in Workbench now and if so, how is it done?

Cheers,
Scott
