We are using FME to translate many vectorial formats such as DGNV8, DXF, DWG, ... into one custom format made of SHP geometric datas and CSV attributes datas. Then we integrate these datas into our GIS dedicated to network solutions (electical, gaz, ...). So if we get nice Microstation file with buildings drawn with patterning and if we only get empty shapes into our GIS, it will seem to be a poor integration tool for our customers ! Our aim is to use FME to convert input datas and get them very similar into our GIS.
So, it is very important for us to get these patterning informations.

Hi Sylvain,
As far as I know we don't supply this information and have no plans to
support it. How important is this for you? If we have a good user case
then there is more chance it will be implemented.
