Oh - having looked closer into our PR system, I don't believe there
is
any way to translate these hatch fills.
I see the following from
a developer:
"I don't think V8 supports reading of hatched shapes. I
believe those
things are stored as linkages and the only linkages V8 reader
supports
are the "database linkages"."
Viewing files in Microstation
I can see the hatch pattern is stored
as an Attribute of the shape and
there is nothing that the reader
returns which indicates this. Also because
we use the Microstation API
to do the reading we are reliant on their
reader to do this.
So I don't know that there is much we can do in this
case. If there is
any help we can provide for a workaround please let me
know.

translate many vectorial formats such as DGNV8,
DXF, DWG, ... into one
custom format made of SHP geometric datas and
CSV attributes datas. Then we
integrate these datas into our GIS
dedicated to network solutions
(electical, gaz, ...). So if we get
nice Microstation file with buildings
drawn with patterning and if we
only get empty shapes into our GIS, it will
seem to be a poor
integration tool for our customers ! Our aim is to use
FME to convert
input datas and get them very similar into our GIS.

So, it is very important for us to get these patterning informations.
