Hi Bill, I can't see what you might be doing wrong here. If the original workspace has null values from the AttributeReprojector then it sounds like a problem you should file with Safe. If you've an AMC then send the workspace and data to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The second workspace has a few more logical reasons why the data isn't written - mostly related to the schema not matching properly. Are there are warnings or errors in the log? Check the schema definition in the destination properties, particularly attribute type.
