Many thanks for your reply. This is an interesting case. Our
process uses non-ESRI software to create a shapefile, and then this
shapefile is edited (deleting and moving some lines) in
ArcGIS9.2/ArcView 3.x. The initial version of this
shapefile (including the edits) did not give the error in Workbench. A
second version , though, where yet additional spatial edits were
carried out in ArcGIS9.2/ArcView 3.x (after the file was created and
edited the first time), returns the error in Workbench.
The FMEpedia page was helpful. It seemed to suggest that FME
probably corrected the problem. Do you know what the result would be
if the auto-compensation didn't fix the problem? For instance, would
there be some sort of obvious errors in the output? I need to verify
that FME really fixed the errors in question and the output is sound.
As far as I can tell, the output looks good.
