One option is post processing on the output. If you output to PostScript
or PCL you can "wrap" the output with PJL commands to select the
printing and finishing options you want. On most modern printers PJL
gives you almost complete access to all the printers functions and features.

iText has been mentioned numerous times as a tool used to do this, so do a search in the list archives for either post-process or iText or both...
