Don't bother with FOP Trunk, yet. I can reproduce it. Looks like a problem with the code that tries to do the byte alignment in org.apache.fop.images.JpegImage. Maybe I have time tomorrow to fix it. No promises.
It wasn't a problem in this case, but if I say FO file, I mean FO file, because an XSLT file without an XML file doesn't help.
