There were some guys from sam-solutions.net (Siarhei Baidun and Gennadiy 
Tsarenkov) a
few months ago who were working on improving JEuclid (check out the
fop-dev mailing list archives). You may want to check out the latest
sources in JEuclid's CVS. After all, the source code is always the best
source of information. :-)
