Thanks, I have done but that leads to the next problem that is, how do I get fop.sh to be a usable command on my system - it uncompresses and fop.sh works but I'm not sure how to install it. I was thinking of copying to /opt and symlinking fop.sh to /usr/bin/fop.

Again seems there's no docs on this and I guess that this is because FOP is usually used by coders.

You might try just downloading FOP from its website... I know this seems
'old skool' but, it includes all the libraries you need (unless you're
doing PNG/SVG stuff).  0.20.5 is the stable release.
