use java from server

Fop 0.92b   I am calling FOP from a command line bat file. The actual FOP folder is located on a server on a Win 2000 server with mainly XP pro clients.   On occasion a client does not have java installed locally, so fop errors with   'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.     Can I tell fop to use the server version of java, or does it have to be installed on each client?   Rick
