This switch has been removed as it was thought it wasn't necessary anymore. I assume this is about your earlier font quality problem. Disabling the PDFTextPainter won't help much in that direction because all text will then be painted as shapes and Acrobat Reader will produce lower quality output on screen (but not on the printer).
