I'm still 'round here and working at some larger FOP-RTF doc, to get RTF
working much better and make it more transparent. This month I'm moving, bigger
appartment, sort of...so maybe it'll have to wait 'til August. If no one else
commits patches until then, I'd like to send the further suggestions 'bout
future development of FOP-RTF (docbook/html/pdf) and patches to get nested
tables working (only >Word 2003) as well as GIF images (transform to
RTF-embedded Bitmaps) and filter page-number-citations (to avoid the question
marks). Maybe I'll move that GIF to the end of the list and give page breaks a
higher priority...

While reading through the code and Microsoft's RTF-spec, I found some
differences, esp. the use of optional or newer control words (/*) in
conjunction with lists, tables and bookmarks. Maybe this is the main source of
errors when comparing OpenOffice, WordPad and Word, I assume OpenOffice does
not drop control words as it should while WordPad does some good guessing (or
default transformation for numbered lists are simple bullets). The last thing I
did was marking sections from the RTF-spec to make good testing documents.
Maybe FOP-RTF becomes a  basis for OpenOffice-improvements *g* and maybe it's
not OpenOffice->ODF->XSL-FO but XSL-FO->FOP->RTF->OpenOffice *gg*
