Thx for your answer and sorry for the late reply, I'v been a little bit busy. Yes - I guess if you say faking, you probably mean table layouts. The problem here is that there is a non-prodictable number of entries that have to fit into the multi-column page. It's some sort of flyer/leaflet for events and built upon a database driven application, so IMHO the chance to use tables is very small. But, I'm not the expert on FOP/XSL-FO. Maybe you know some other tricks / wordarounds for this.
