Forgive me for butting in, but ">" is a valid character in XML data--the
only time it really has to be specified as an entity or character
reference is when it's part of a string "]]>" that is not marking the
end of a CDATA section.

This should be:
<directory>/sgcv10/software/OpenCM/Files/ALI/Fonts</directory>

However, I wonder why the XML parser didn't object to that file.
