Your impression is correct. Not everything is up-to-date as it maybe
should be.

Yes, you're looking in the wrong spot. ;-) A lot of things have happened
but maybe not so much on spec coverage. The compliance page is pretty
much up-to-date but if you want a more detailed view of the changes, see

Never ask "when" on a volunteer-driven project. ;-) We thought we'd do a
release early this year. It didn't happen. Cutting a release is a lot of
work but that's not the only reason. Hopefully, 1.0 will be available
still this year.
