I agree it would be nice to do S/R in single-line mode (optional, of course); I use that sort of thing a lot too.
What would be _really_ cool would be colour-hilighting in the regexp search text box, so it colours literals and regexp chars differently. An 'escape' function would be nice too, to automatically escape the necessary characters in the box. Example: Select text in editor This costs $20 (cheap, no?) Ctrl+H, select Regexp option, search text changes to This costs \$20 \(cheap, no\?\) Having to find them by hand can be a pain when it's a large amount of text.
