Hi, re replace should work in phReplace, howevere, there are some possible
suprising differences.
to search for a newline, one should use 

to replace with a newline, like in your case a literal cannot be used for some
reason.

Fortunately, you can just use a real newline in both cases, i.e.:
</li><li>
replace wit:
</li>
<li>
