Hi, which Windows version are you using? Some of the things you mention work ok for me (Win XPp SP3, PSPad 4.5.5, 2395 (beta) - alternatively, you can try this latest beta, but I don't know, whether anything from your cases was modified recently.
esura: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am using PSPad v 4.5.4 I have noticed (what appear to be) some minor bugs/issues with PSPad, although nothing on this list is critical. Apologies if any have been mentioned before: When creating a new file (Ctrl+N) the selected format/extension type is selected in a very light, hard-to-see colour on a white background. If one scrolls down, or clicks on a format, the selected type shows up in dark blue. I think it should be dark blue to begin with, making it easy for users to see quickly what is preselected and hit enter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I see a usual dialog with items black on white, the first selected white on dark blue. I can get the selected item in black on gray, if I move the focus in an unusual way like clicking the button and dragging the mouse outside it, but even then the text is readable too. Could it be some windows desktop theme issue? esura: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New tabstops are deleted upon saving. That is to say, if one creates a new line and hits tab, then saving will delete the new tabspace and place the cursor back at the beginning of the line. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- uncheck Settings: Program settings: Editor (part 1): [ ] Trim trailing spaces esura: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If one has some text in quotation marks, "for example," then the opening quotation mark is not word-wrapped with the rest of the first word. It stays on the first line, while the rest of the word moves to the second. Also regarding word-wrap, a single character will appear simultaneously on the first line after the right margin, and on the line below, until a further character is typed (is this expected behaviour?) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I believe, these are some of the glitches in the editor component, which aren't easily fixable in the program. esura: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alt+tab behaviour does not seem consistent with Windows, in that it requires two presses, rather than one, to switch windows. (But then, some other programmes occasionally display similar brhaviour.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For me switching to other aplications via Alt+Tab works normaly (from the first time) - I only have to switch twice, if there is an opened active subwindow like ASCII table, clipboard monitor etc. A related functionality - tab-swithing with Ctrl+Tab is adjustable in Settings: Program settings: Program (part 1): Tab swithing esura: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An asterisk (*) at the beginning of one line prompts an asterisk at the beginning of a newly created line, even when NOT inside a comment. (Is this expected behaviour?) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Change Settings: Program settings: Direct edit: [Special settings] ... ContinueComment=0 esura: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Finally, congratulations to Jan on a very versatile text editor. PSPad is very enjoyable to work with. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Indeed, hth vbr -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,54282,54283> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
