Thankyou for the swift reply. It is possible that the colour issue is related to the desktop theme; but then, that would imply, I guess, that one colour is being used by PSPad to indicate a selected format once the dialog window is created, and a second colour used once the user interacts with the window by clicking/scrolling - which seems unlikely to me. When the new file dialogue appears, I see all items with black text on a white background, with the selected item in black text on a very faint yellow or gray background. Clicking on an item, or simply even scrolling, gives the selected item white text on a dark blue background. If noone else has experienced a similar problem, perhaps it is related specifically somehow to my OS and other configurations.
In answer to your question, I am using Vista Home Premium on a Toshiba machine. cite: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ ] Trim trailing spaces -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I never even thought of this. PSPad is, of course, behaving predictably. It was just really weird for me creating a new line and indenting, then seeing the indent suddenly dissapear upon saving. I guess the Alt+tab behaviour is an OS problem. I'll blame Microsoft and Toshiba for now. Thanks for the heads-up on the ContinueComment setting. However, if I understand correctly (judging by the name), the purpose of ContinueComment is ONLY to continue comments. If I type /* and then hit enter, for example, one expects an asterisk on the new line, and indeed that works fine. If I simply type * (without a slash) then this isn't a valid comment (in languages such as Java, for example), but PSPad will insert a new asterisk regardless. Even when working in a TXT file, similar behaviour is evident, despite the fact that a TXT file doen't exactly have comments, as such. Of course, it is also possible, that I have misintrepreted the purpose of ContinueComment; and even if it were an oversight, at least it is not one of an overly critical nature.
