I don't think the above was the correct answer. The Search and Replace system is lacking in several ways.
When I talked about it in one thread it sounded like "they" weren't interested in changing it to make it better. (that it was "good enough as is") Unfortunately, I think it is one of the weakest aspects of PSPad. Almost every editor I've ever used has a far better S&R interface and functionality than PSPad. And PSPad is also one of the most non-standard interfaces compared to the 30+ editors I've used over the years. It should be a no-brainer. You look at some of the top editors around and see what their S&R interface and functionality is, and you emulate all or most of it (when and as you can), choosing some of the nicer features from some of the editors. Every editor is lacking in some ways in this respect. But none as bad as PSPad. (or I haven't seen one this bad in many years) I was disappointed when I realized this.
