BeeDee: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Every editor is lacking in some ways in this respect. But none as bad as PSPad. (or I haven't seen one this bad in many years) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes Notepad++'s editor component (Scintilla) is better than PSPad's (SynEdit) but then Notepad++ doesn't have half as many features as PSPad nor is it, in my opinion, as easy to use. In fact I don't think many text editors have anywhere near as many features as PSPad. Things like color translator, color picker, Ascii table, change settings from statusbar, eyedropper, preview on local server, code explorer, etc etc. To me whilst syntax highlighting is a nice thing to have you shouldn't rely on it. I'm old school and started coding using Notepad so everything was just black. Another editor you may want to give a try is RJ TextEd which, like PSPad, is written in Delphi but in this case the guy also wrote the editor component it uses. -- Carbonize <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,54317,54521> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
