From what the spec says in 5.2.2, it uses the DEV bit (hence the term emulation)
in Master/Slave emulation mode. So it should appear to BIOS and drivers exactly as a
standard PATA channel with Master/Slave devices. I say should only becuase I have not
physically seen one yet. It should also be noted, the specification defines that as
an optional mode so not everyone may support it. I do not see a slave only emulation
mode.

If this is the case, then the software would be making use of the device bit
in the Device Selection Register to switch between the devices in two ports
?
And for the software, the master/slave terminology holds good, am I correct
?
