Hale, One thing lost in the mix is DCO +/- HPA and the various combinations and effects releated to the 28/48-bit address point and command sets. Add in the twist of SET MAX EXTENDED and the reporting of capacity of fabrications in the two locations, it makes concept of accurate and proper reporting to the HOST nearly impossible. HPA == I have a secret, not going to tell you. DCO == Hey Dollars of GigaBytes ?? Remember HPA/Parties depends on BEER. If DCO overides HPA and BEER sectors > 1, that means there are/can be Parties > 1. Now DCO can be committed several times, and the limit is not specified, this now implies: PARTIES >>= HPA >= BEER >= DCO >= 0 Since there appears to be a means to have several PARTIES inside a given HPA, who knows where the chaos will end.
