I think Linux for palm-ish gadgets has gotten around to publishing a
standard Usb/ Ata bridge, in a way.

I hear gpl-published source code of the "fsg" bridge actually goes from
Usb to an abstract seek/ write/ read layer to Ata, but I bother to
mention fsg because I'm guessing in CFA we most feel the lack of a
standard for Usb to abstract seek/ write/ read, whereas the t13.org
texts already cover the bridge below that adequately.

P.S. I remember msft on the web specifically recommends USB
bInterfaceClass SubClass Protocol = x 08 xx 50 for flash.
