I've noticed a few people complaining of crashes and glitches when using
99se for large designs.
I'm running 99se sp6 on an AMD 750MHz with 128Mb of RAM and have not had a
single problem since changing from win98 to winME (~4 months). I've
extensively customised the Protel environment too.
A couple of typically large PCBs I've been working on are as follows:
140mm x 90mm, 393 holes, 140 components
430mm x 130mm, 698 holes, 66 components
The largest .ddb file I have is about 20MB (compacted).
I thought these were large. So how big does a design have to be before I
start noticing problems?
