Hi guys,
got a question regarding the best manner to accomplish the updating
free primitives from component Pads. Is it always necessary to unlock the
primitives of components to get these to update their net connectivity using
the Netlist Manager and the "Update Free Primitives from Component Pads"
function?
From various discussions I have never heard that unlocking the
primitives was necessary for this function to work with components
containing free primitives connected to pads (i.e. copper gnd and vias,
preroutes & vias).
I have a part which contains two pads, one large pad contains
several vias for gnd connection. To get the vias to update their net
connections using the netlist manager, it seems that I must first unlock the
primitives of the component. Since I can't recall others mentioning this, I
have the suspicion that I am missing something in the normal process that
most of you follow. I assume this would also be the same for footprints with
preroutes and via stringers but I have not tested that specific combination.
