Daniel,
I do have some speed issues with P99SE that I immediately noticed
after upgrading from P98. I call them "pregnant pauses" because I have to
wait short periods ( 2 - 5 seconds) when entering key stokes for shortcuts
or particularly when canceling certain operations, like stopping manual
routing. They consistently occur between two key strokes like, deselect "X"
All "A", view "V" redraw "R", etc, etc. If I don't wait then the keystrokes
are ignored anyway, that seems ignorant because I know they were entered to
the keystroke buffer but Protel obviously just passed them by and ignored
them. It used to be that you could enter whole paragraphs while programs
were tied up, now Protel can't even catch and execute a single keystroke
that occurred while it was busy.
They happen with most instructions and seem quite consistent. These
pauses did not exist with P98, same machine, same config, same network.
