aren't those DC connectors a pain? !
if you use round holes they are huge and the thing NEVER lines up in the
box hole
and you need 2 sizes of large hole
if you try to accommodate the 2.1 and the 2.5mm pin size they get real
sloppy (the legs are bigger on the 2.5)

a lot of them melt real easy too, the funny thing is that that
particular shape is so widely used
did I mention that the up and down varies too?
we have a note on the wall about the perfect elevation of the box hole
from the board, and have been more or less been continuously revising it
up and down for years, i guess they vary even though one kind appears to
be the same as another

drawings, if obtainable, for offshore jacks are just about guaranteed to
be missing the one dimension you really need
