Dear Mr. Allen,
In my personal view your work regarding Nepali font support for
windows series has been well appreciated by Microsoft (aka "Khali
bottle sisi"), some Nepali techies and in general the Nepali govt. But
I as Nepali citizen, condemn your selfish act!
But not only is Microsoft windows proprietary but also closed-source.
Every piece of the code for MS Windows platform is written with
"return on investments" in mind. The government of Nepal although
might be on your side today, but in the coming future, I see your
business fail and pray to god that it'll fail.
Other important reasons (I do not have to give you reasons as you very
well know it anyway), I condemn your heinous act and your business
strategy are -
1) Every penny of Nepali citizens tax money is being shipped to
Redmond via India via the kukkur Netas of Nepal and high-level
government officers of Nepal.
2) Programmers can't see what's going on in their system (because they
don't have access to source code unlike GNU/Linux systems).
3) Every child that is hungry/uneducated is increasing by day because
that damn tax money could very well be spent on things like proper
education, building hospitals, proper electricity and so on.
And all this for one piece of Nepali font (this is a very naive way I see) ?
The above mentioned points are more than enough reasons why your
company is doomed to fail in foreseeable future.
In lieu of that I urge you to promote FOSS and change your business
strategy rather than make try to more pockets deeper (which you
already have but just not willing to donate/support the FOSS movement
in Nepal, instead it goes to somewhere else. Where ? Thy should know
better I guess).
Listen to the people and not Redmond. You know it and a lot of people
know it as well that M$ will stab you at the back someday when their
work can be fulfilled at even cheaper rate in China/India (And when
that happens, you'll tell Ball_Mar something along the lines of "Oh
Mr. Ballmer, we'll produce next generation fonts and better support of
Nepali language of winblows @ government level so that you'd have
continued revenue from poor Nepali people's pocket") but watch out
Allen!, *HE* will stab you at the back one day. And you tell me that
you believe Steve Ballmer's every word ? What a joke!
