Hello everyone,
We here at IOE FoSS Community have been actively talking to the computer
incharge at Brihaspati Vidyasadan and he has welcomed us to come and convert
his school's entire lab into FOSS that is Linux. So as soon as our exam
finishes that is one migration that we are going to do at Brihaspati. On
further talks with him, he has agreed to lobby along with us for teacher's
training (the kind that Hempal Dai was talking) with different schools for
participation and govt for, most probably, some funding. The training, if it
materializes, will be conducted at the school.
For us FOSSians, this can be a good step forward as this will be the first
school in KTM running a lab entirely in Linux (may be Ubuntu 7.04or
6.06LTS) with Dosbox for some dos based programs like QBASIC, hence,
we are
really hoping that this planing does come true and we can move forward with
a conviction for better and a accepted tomorrow for FOSS
